Trying to put a finger on the pulse of this season has proven to be difficult. I guess if you want, we can say it’s been a traditional Flames start, but it’s different than usual.
It feels like from my perspective and Warrener said it on the morning show. He is right, there is a problem in the room. Whether it was Tkachuk/Muzzin incident or Bennett’s trade request, something is just not right at all with this Flames team.
You can call for the coach and GM’s head all you want, but it isn’t at all just a 1 or 2 sided problem at this point. I said it on Episode 12 and I’ll say it again, it’s a four sided issue. It’s the players, coaching, management, even ownership, I’m sorry but nobody except for Jacob Markstrom is defendable at this point.
For one I am not a Geoff Ward lover or hater, his system of dump and chase does not work, this is isn’t 2004. However in saying it and this where it comes back to being a four sided issue, players still have to execute system that is implemented, no matter who the head coach is on this team.
In conclusion, if they don’t get this thing back on the rails sooner rather than later, sure you can tell me all you want there is still 36 games left, but in a season like this, the noise won’t go away and it’ll be tougher rest of way, we shall wait and see what happens.
Have a Blasty Day
